ABOUT

You are welcome to leave any comment at this page.

This blog is just for Photo’s (and PP is minimal in Picasa3). It is the only dedicated photo theme on WordPress and I use it for its uncluttered appearance and the fact the border changes colour to suit the picture, though it could do it better. Isn’t it always so.

I delight in seeing up close the hidden world of Nature.  If my pictures give you pleasure as they do me you will probably notice a little more the beauty and intelligence of this Earth. That can only be  good all round.

All pictures are of live creatures ‘in situ’, in the wild, only a few are rarely captured around the house and later released after a few shots and a feed of honey and water.

Why do I (do what I do) love macro?

It started as a need to be more in the sense of things than the mind of things – a practical exercise I’ll describe if asked to. A form of meditation that is my first art, of seeing and being without the interference of thought or emotion, the best I can.

I enjoy taking photos, macro in particular, for contact with the simple wonder of the usually unseen detail of the overlooked beauty of form and colour at our feet. Acknowledging the natural things is a direct route to the sense, some would say reality, of the mystery behind. But, fundamentally, it is a pleasure.

The practical value for me in macro photography is in the time I spend in the nature looking closely at the fact or being in the sense of things with minimal mind work. The more time I spend in the sense of nature the more at ease I am.  It’s that simple.

I also teach a form of meditation to anyone with the need to quiet the mind, utilising the simple sense of nature, as I was once taught. It is also a pleasure.

It comes down to pleasure. If it ever stops being a pleasure I’ll do something else that pleases me.

If you want peace of mind fill it with the sense of Nature. It just makes sense.
